    Impact strength of a simply supported beam without notches

    The ratio of the absorbed impact energy during failure of a non notched specimen under impact load to the original cross-sectional area of the specimen, expressed in KJ/m2.

    Impact strength of notched specimens on simply supported beams

    The ratio of the absorbed impact energy during failure of a notched specimen under impact load to the original cross-sectional area at the notch of the specimen, expressed in kj/m2.

    Relative impact strength

    The ratio of the impact strength of notched specimens to that of non notched specimens, or the ratio of the impact strength of A-type and B-type notches in similar specimens.

    The ratio of the impact strength of C-type notched specimens to the impact strength of either A-type or B-type notched specimens shall not be used as a measure of relative impact strength.

    Complete destruction

    After a single impact, the sample is divided into two or several sections.

    A type of incomplete failure, which refers to the transverse fracture of 90% of the non notched specimen or notched specimen.

    Principle:

    Use a pendulum with known energy to strike a specimen supported as a horizontal beam, and the specimen is destroyed by a single impact of the pendulum. The impact lines are located at the center of the two supports. If it is a notched specimen, the impact lines should be facing the notch. The energy difference between the pendulum before and after the impact is used to determine the energy absorbed by the specimen during failure. Then calculate the impact strength based on the original cross-sectional area of the sample.

    无缺口试样简支梁冲击强度

    无缺口试样在冲击负荷作用下,破坏时所吸收的冲击能量与试样的原始横截面积之比,以KJ/m2表示。

    缺口试样简支梁冲击强度

    缺口试样在冲击负荷作用下,破坏时吸收的冲击能量与试样缺口处的原始横截面积之比,以kj/m2表示。

    相对冲击强度

    缺口试样冲击强度与无缺口试样冲击强度之比,或同类试样A型与B型缺口冲击强度之比。

    C型缺口试样冲击强度与A型或B型任一种缺口试样冲击强度之比,不得作为相对冲击强度的量度。

    完全破坏

    经达一次冲击使试样分成两段或几段。

    部分破坏

    一种不完全破坏,即无缺口试样或缺口试样的横断开90%

    无破坏

    一种不完全破坏,即无缺口试样或缺口试样的横断面断开部分小于90%

    原理:

    用已知能量的摆锤打击支承成水平梁的试样,由摆锤一次冲击使试样破坏。冲击线们于两支座正中,若为缺口试样则冲击线应正对缺口,以冲击前、后摆锤的能量差,确定试样在破坏时所吸收的能量。然后按试样原始横截面积计算其冲击强度。
